MoodysNWC is seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with strong analytical and data visualization expertise, and a passion for GenAI-driven analytics innovation. In this role, you’ll design impactful dashboards, build optimized data models, and deliver actionable insights using Power BI, SQL, DAX, and cloud data platforms. Responsibilities:
1: Perform Discovery and Determine Scope
Analyze data via SQL to assess structure, granularity, quality, and analytical fit.
Gather, document, and validate detailed business requirements.
Define innovative, actionable analytics and KPIs.
Prepare high-level project plans with activities, resources, and timeframes.
Recommend appropriate analytics delivery methods and platform options.
2: Evaluate, Prepare, and Connect to Data
Implement Power BI connections to Cloud data sources (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Google Cloud SQL, Azure SQL).
Collaborate with data engineers to prepare efficient, aligned data sets.
Create views and aggregate datasets within Cloud data warehouses.
Address data sourcing, connection settings, query performance, and transformation.
3: Plan and Implement Data Models & DAX
Recommend calculation methods between Power BI and Data Warehouses.
Design and develop data models with relationships, measures, hierarchies, and security.
Create DAX measures for complex calculations and optimize model performance.
4: Design Dashboards and Develop Visualizations/Reports
Implement performance best practices in dashboard development.
Create insightful, actionable visualizations aligned with business needs.
Support UAT, performance testing, and deployment activities.
Enrich reports with features like drill-throughs, slicers, exports, mobile access, and alerts.
5: Enable Insightful Analysis & AI
Enhance reports with conditional formatting, Quick Insights, grouping, and AI features.
6: Deploy Assets and Maintain Access
Qualifications:
4-7 years of relevant experience.
Advanced SQL query skills.
Strong Power BI expertise, including DAX and data modeling.
Effective client communication (both verbal and written) is a must-have.
Ability to tell stories with data and maintain analytical curiosity.
Passion for innovation and Gen AI technologies, including familiarity with ChatGPT, Custom GPTs, and other Gen AI capabilities.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment under tight deadlines.
Adaptability to a dynamic, high-paced team environment with constantly changing demands and priorities.
High attention to detail and quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
Microsoft Power BI certifications (especially PL-300 Data Analyst).
Expertise in Cloud Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, Google, Azure).
Python skills across data preparation to visualization.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The salary for this position ranges from $130,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to 160,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on several factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Other forms of compensation are offered in the form of medical, vision, and dental benefits.
