Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Paralegal to join their legal team supporting complex foreclosure and bankruptcy matters. This role will support senior attorneys handling residential and commercial foreclosure cases, creditor collections, and bankruptcy filings.
This position is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in creditor-side litigation and Maryland foreclosure procedures. Candidates with experience in title processing, title insurance, or real estate transactions—especially at larger or mid-sized law firms—are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities:
Manage case files from referral through post-closing for both commercial and residential foreclosure proceedings
Prepare pleadings, notices, affidavits, and docket filings related to foreclosure and bankruptcy cases
Draft and process bankruptcy filings, including petitions and claims, using federal court e-filing systems (CM/ECF)
Coordinate directly with court administrators, trustees, and legal counterparts to ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements
Review loan records, title reports, and legal documents to identify issues and prepare summaries or claims
Liaise with clients and maintain consistent communication throughout the case lifecycle
Support litigation efforts with legal research, document preparation, and case tracking
Handle administrative overflow and help manage junior administrative staff when necessary
Maintain accurate records and filing systems using legal software and Microsoft Office tools
Requirements:
5+ years of relevant experience in foreclosure, bankruptcy, or creditor’s rights, with an emphasis on Maryland cases
Experience preparing filings for state and federal courts; familiarity with electronic filing systems (e.g., PACER, CM/ECF)
Understanding of loan servicing documentation, title reports, and land records; title processing or insurance background is a plus
Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certification (or equivalent work experience)
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex casework with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to interact professionally with clients and external parties
