Job Title: Solution Architect, API Migration

Location Charlotte

Type : FTE (No C2C or sub contractor)

Mode : Hybrid

Job Summary:

Design and architect end-to-end solutions for API migration from legacy platforms (DataPower/F5) to Kong Connect, ensuring performance, scalability, security, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect the migration of APIs, proxies, and integration patterns from DataPower/F5 to Kong.

Define end-to-end migration workflows including lift-and-shift, service refactoring, and Kong policy translations.

Develop reusable solution templates for security policies, traffic management, and API versioning strategies.

Conduct dependency analysis, service classification, and target-state blueprinting.

Collaborate with platform engineering, cloud operations, and DevOps teams to ensure smooth rollout.

Support the Design Authority by providing technical validation, solution guidance, and risk mitigation insights.

Integrate GenAI-driven accelerators, observability patterns, and automated deployment pipelines.

Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in API architecture, middleware modernization, or cloud-native platform design.

Hands-on expertise with Kong Gateway, API security standards (OAuth, mTLS), and service mesh concepts.

Strong understanding of F5/iRules, IBM DataPower, OpenAPI specifications, and hybrid cloud architectures.

Demonstrated experience in designing scalable, secure, and resilient API ecosystems.

Effective communication and documentation skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
