SUMMARY: We are seeking a Paralegal to support the trial team in all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate must have at least 5 years of complex litigation experience with an emphasis on large case management, trial preparation, document production, discovery and trial exhibits. The day to day duties includes drafting notices, summonses; administer and oversee document inspections at the request of counsel; research and analyze case law; Shepardize cases and cite check briefs; communicate with court personnel regarding the status of cases; electronically edit documents relating to litigation; proofread documents to be filed in court.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Prepare, organize, and file documents and correspondence with the court

• Conduct legal research

• Update and maintain docketing and filing as well as internal databases

• Prepare witness and other materials for case preparation

• Organize relevant documents for attorney review and case preparation

• Prepare for depositions, including the preparation of discovery requests; facilitate service of process and coordinating examinations before trial (EBT)

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs

• Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc.)

• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes

• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices

• Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests

• Assist between trial teams and internal/external third parties; conducts investigations; engage in on-line legal research; develop pleadings; prepare motions and other pertinent legal documents/forms for review by assigned attorney; assist in discovery

• Accurately and consistently track and record all related billable and non-billable time;

• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with experts, including preparing materials and trial preparation

• Familiarity with medical records and preparing related chronologies

• Previous experience attending trial(s)

• Investigative mind and strong factual research skills

• Working knowledge of legal database software

• Experience in preparing legal reports

• Excellent communication and time management skills

• Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Relativity and Word

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Certification or associate’s degree in paralegal studies (bachelor’s degree is preferred)

• Minimum of 5 - 8 years’ experience in a paralegal role

Salary range- 90-100 K/ annually

Hybrid work schedule (3 days in person/ 2 days remote.) This schedule is dependent upon the needs of the attorneys and is subject to change on a weekly basis.
