Our client is located in Austin, TX and looking to add an Electrical Engineer to their team. The Electrical Engineer will design and test electrical solutions to support systems primarily used in subsea ROVs (remotely operated vehicle). This role will be required to work onsite.
Target salary is between $85-95k.
Responsibilities
Communicate with internal or external customers/suppliers and coworkers to establish the required functionality of electronic systems and components
Perform the research, analysis, testing and proof-of-concepts required prior to final design
Design digital, analog and mixed signal PCBs and other components along with their required interfaces using CAD tools such as Altium Designer
Design, code, and test circuit board firmware using primarily C language
Design, code, and test the software required for circuit board firmware testing using primarily C# language
Create test procedures and criteria for hardware and firmware as needed for engineering and production qualification
Perform comprehensive functional test of circuit boards with diagnosis of faults and modification as needed
Produce documentation for the design, testing, fault diagnosis, and normal use of the final design
Perform all clerical functions needed to order components, produce parts, and establish parts in inventory
Perform product-life support functions such as technical support and failure analysis
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
3 years’ experience as an Electrical Engineer
3 years’ experience with circuit board design and production
3 years’ experience writing firmware for microcontrollers with C language
3 years’ experience using lab equipment such as power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, soldering tools, etc.
Experience with serial/modbus communication protocols (e.g. RS-232C, CAN, I2C)
Experience with scripting language like Python
