Senior Data Architect

Salary is 190k to 275 + bonus

Seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect with Metadata and 7-10+ years of expertise in taxonomy and metadata management to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of metadata models and solutions architecture, and be skilled in developing and implementing metadata frameworks that support our organization's strategic goals. This role demands a blend of technical acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

Metadata Strategy Development: Design and implement comprehensive metadata strategies that align with business objectives and data governance policies.

Taxonomy Design: Develop and maintain taxonomies and controlled vocabularies to ensure consistent and accurate metadata across various data assets.

Solutions Architecture: Architect and optimize metadata models, ensuring they are scalable and aligned with the organization's data architecture and technological stack.

Data Management: Oversee the integration of metadata into data management systems, ensuring metadata accuracy and accessibility.

Collaboration: Work closely with data architects, business analysts, and IT teams to align metadata solutions with broader organizational needs and technology initiatives.

Documentation and Training: Create detailed documentation for metadata standards, processes, and models. Provide training and support to staff on metadata best practices.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure metadata practices comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor and enhance metadata quality and consistency.

Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in metadata management and taxonomy. Recommend and implement improvements and innovations in metadata practices.

Qualifications:

Experience: 7-10+ years of experience in taxonomy development, metadata management, and solutions architecture. Experience with MongoDB and SQL Server and familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark and Kafka.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in metadata management tools and platforms. Strong knowledge of metadata standards and best practices.

Analytical Skills: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Science, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Metadata Professional) is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with data governance frameworks and tools.

Knowledge of data integration and ETL processes.

Familiarity with semantic web technologies (e.g., RDF, OWL) and linked data principles.
