Director of Civil & Structural Engineering

Our Houston based client is looking to add an accomplished Director of Civil & Structural Engineering to their leadership team in Houston, TX. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for overseeing engineering operations across a portfolio of major Oil & Gas infrastructure projects; both onshore and offshore.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide technical and managerial leadership for all civil and structural engineering activities.

Oversee design and analysis for foundations, steel structures, pipe racks, offshore platforms, and related infrastructure.

Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate across engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) functions.

Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Guide the development and implementation of engineering standards and QA/QC protocols.

Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

Represent the firm in client engagements, project reviews, and industry forums.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

10+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in Leadership/Management.

Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas.

Strong background in EPC environments and major capital project execution.

Experience with international design codes and standards (e.g., API, AISC, ASCE, ISO).

Proven leadership skills with experience managing large teams and complex projects.

Preferred Experience:

Offshore structural design or FPSO experience.

Familiarity with tools like STAAD, SACS, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit.

SE license or PMP certification is a plus.
