Data Scientist/Data Preparation Specialist for Austin, TX for a 12-month Contract.
Responsibilities:
Data Scientist with expertise in data preparation to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines, ensuring data is clean, reliable, and accessible for analytical and business needs. This role requires proficiency in ETL/ELT processes, database management, and working with big data technologies.
Collect, clean and preprocess large datasets to ensure data quality and consistency
Extract data from various sources (databases, APIs, Logs, etc)
Transform raw data (cleaning, formatting, structuring).
Ensure scalability and reliability of data pipelines.
Ensure data is reliable, accessible and scalable
Extract insights and build predictive models.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in data science, data preparation, or related roles.
8+ years strong Python programming experience.
Strong experience with Numpy, Pandas and Scikit
Strong experience with LLM models
Experience with machine learning model data preparation.
Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server).
Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica) and data transformation techniques.
Knowledge of big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Databricks).
Hands-on experience with AWS cloud
Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and database management systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fintech, Banking or Payment processing experience is a plus
Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming technologies.
Certification in cloud data engineering (AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Professional Data Engineer, etc.).
