We are seeking an experienced Senior Android Developer to lead our Android development efforts. In this role, you will architect and build sophisticated Android applications for our sports analytics platform, provide technical leadership, and mentor junior developers. This position requires technical excellence, leadership capabilities, and a passion for creating exceptional sports technology solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership & Architecture

Lead architectural decisions for Android applications, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability

Participate in client requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical specifications

Conduct architectural reviews and design sessions with the development team

Make strategic technology choices regarding frameworks, libraries, and development approachesDevelopment & Implementation

Develop robust, high-performance native Android applications that integrate with our sports analytics platform

Build end-to-end features that deliver exceptional value to users

Design and implement sophisticated features utilizing hardware sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, and camera APIs

Create hybrid applications using Flutter when appropriate for cross-platform needs

Ensure the responsiveness, quality, and performance of all Android applicationsTeam Leadership & Mentoring

Lead a team of Android developers, providing technical guidance and mentorship

Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain code quality and knowledge sharing

Foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement

Represent the Android development team in cross-functional and client meetingsQuality & Process Improvement

Establish and maintain best practices for Android development

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and memory issues

Implement efficient CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies

Maintain code quality through appropriate tools and processes

Collaborate with QA to ensure comprehensive test coverage

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

5+ years of professional Android development experience

Expert knowledge of Java and Kotlin

Deep understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture, etc.)

Strong experience with in-memory databases and offline storage solutions

Demonstrated expertise in threading and concurrency on Android

Proficient in performance tuning using Android Profiler and other diagnostic tools

Extensive experience developing Bluetooth-enabled applications

Advanced knowledge of REST API integration and network communication

Expert understanding of Git version control and branching strategies

Experience with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)

Proven track record of leading development teams

Nice to Have

Experience with Flutter for hybrid app development

Background in sports technology or fitness applications

Experience with real-time data processing and analytics

Knowledge of machine learning frameworks for mobile

Experience with AR/VR technologies on Android

Contributions to open-source projects or published technical content
