Job Summary
The logistics technician is responsible for safely transferring and shipping product. Product is shipped and received by rail or truck.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Receive raw materials by rail and truck. Transfer products between tanks, railcars, and trucks. Load and ship finished products by railcar and truck.
Memorize complete piping and instrumentation diagram for the logistics operation
Follow proper pumping procedures to transfer products
Collect product samples and deliver to Quality department for laboratory testing
Complete shipping manifests, weigh rail cars, and perform other shipping/receiving transactions
Operate TrackMobile to move railcars
Perform inventory measurements, as required
Support the Company principles of Safety, Compliance, Quality, and Cost.
Ensure all work is performed following standard operating procedures and safe practices
Follow GMP practices throughout the process.
Observe OSHA and Federal Railroad Administration rules
Know the hazards of the loading and unloading systems and the safety actions
Perform Lock Out/Tag Out as required
Complete safety training in required timeframe
Perform regular, routine safety inspections as assigned
Communicate safety issues with Logistics Supervisor
Understand the proper method for shutting down pumping equipment in an emergency
Maintain clean working area. Power washers, mixed Ts, and shovels should be used to cleanup area, as necessary. Hoses and tools should be stored properly when not in use. Seals should be placed in trash as they are cut off trucks and railcars.
Support Maintenance to perform equipment inspection, installation and repair
Formal Education / Certification Requirements – Essential Functions
Required
High school education or its equivalent.
Understand basics of using PC, including Microsoft Word, excel, outlook etc.
Preferred
Minimum 2 years related experience
Manufacturing experience, especially in a refinery
Ability to obtain TWIC certification
Travel Requirements
Infrequently. Maybe required for training.

Duties involve frequent walking, standing, lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects up to 50 lbs
Regularly climb [stairs and ladders] accessing heights up to 80 feet
Connect steam hoses with 150 pound steam (temperature over 300 ree;F)
Participate in confined space entries
Inspect mixers/pumps located 12-14ft below an elevated tank platform
Work in all weather conditions

Candidates must have open availability as the exact shift is to be determined and may vary from the schedule outlined below based on business needs. Our standard schedule is two week rotating shifts, 12 hour shifts. Shift may be days or nights. Week 1: Monday 6 - 6, Tuesday 6-6, Friday 6-6, Saturday 6-6 (48 hours). Week 2: Sunday 6-6, Wednesday 6-6, Thursday 6-6 (36 hours).
