Veterinary Technician/Assistant

Job Description

Experience required, licensed RVT preferred. Modern, well-equipped small animal, busy AAHA hospital in Downey, CA, seeks a dedicated, reliable, responsible assistant/technician who is committed to a career in veterinary medicine. Responsibilities include surgery preparation and assistance, patient monitoring/care/maintenance in the exam room and under treatment/care at the hospital, sterilization of equipment, client education, lab testing, x-rays, vaccinations/medicine preparation, ability to closely follow doctors' directions, ability to lift large, heavy dogs. If not licensed, veterinary assistants (non-licensed technicians) are also required to maintain the kennel, bathe small animals per the doctors' directions, maintain/clean the hospital and the hospital premises. Serious applicants only.

1 year minimum experience required, licensed technician preferred (RVT LICENSE). Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus.
