Position Summary
As a Human Resource Specialist at Umang LLC, you’ll be the backbone of our people-focused initiatives. You’ll manage full-cycle HR processes—from recruitment and onboarding through performance management and employee relations—ensuring compliance and fostering a positive, high-engagement culture.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
Draft and post job descriptions to attract qualified candidates
Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage offer letters
Facilitate new-hire orientation and ensure completion of required paperwork
Employee Relations & Engagement
Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns
Coach managers on performance feedback, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
Organize team-building events, recognition programs, and employee surveys
HR Administration & Compliance
Maintain accurate personnel records and HRIS data
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO)
Prepare reports on headcount, turnover, and diversity metrics
Performance Management & Development
Support annual performance-review process, including goal-setting and calibration
Identify training needs and coordinate professional development workshops
Track and analyze training outcomes to measure impact
Compensation & Benefits Support
Assist with benefits administration (enrollment, changes, inquiries)
Conduct market research to benchmark salaries and recommend adjustments
Process payroll-related documentation in partnership with external payroll provider
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
3+ years of HR generalist experience, preferably in a professional services or consulting environment
Solid knowledge of D.C. and federal employment regulations
Proven ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretion
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., BambooHR, Workday, or similar)
Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting
Proactive problem-solver with a focus on continuous improvement
