Title: Sr. Validation Engineer, ADAS Safety Features

About the Role:
eShocan is seeking a skilled Sr. Validation Engineer responsible for validation, calibration, and data processing method development for ADAS safety features.
This position calls for a professional with a proven track record in successfully bringing new automotive (ADAS) systems into production.

We are looking for a dynamic engineer with a strong technical foundation, excellent organizational skills, and a can-do attitude. Key Responsibilities:
Lead validation of hardware and software components for ADAS/AD safety functions including Automatic Emergency Braking, Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Protection, and more.
Coordinate closely with validation engineers based at eShocan's Newark, CA headquarters and contribute to component and vehicle-level validation tests.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering feature requirements, regulatory compliance (NHTSA, GSR2, Euro NCAP), homologation testing, SOTIF confirmation, data analysis, and root cause investigations while ensuring traceability to functional and performance specifications.
Support benchmarking, calibration, and post-processing method development for analyzing vehicle data.
Utilize advanced tools and processes such as ground truth systems, VRUs, soft car targets, and robotic platforms to execute validation plans efficiently.
Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to perform testing with robotic equipment at proving grounds, optimizing vehicle test and calibration strategies for cost, efficiency, and product quality.
Travel as needed to perform validation testing and synchronize with the team at Newark, CA.
Work cross-functionally with teams across HMI, functional safety, powertrain, infotainment, cybersecurity, homologation, and ADAS/AD for vehicle software updates, system-level validation, and development activities.
Leverage state-of-the-art ALM tools to manage architecture, requirements, test plans, and results in a collaborative environment.
Partner with component owners to ensure thorough validation of ADAS safety functions. Qualifications:
Strong track record of working with hardware/software systems related to ADAS or AD safety features for automotive mass production.
Expertise in developing and executing validation test plans and performing root cause analysis.
Hands-on experience with automotive testing methods and tools (e.g., HIL/SIL, Vector CANoe, CANape, CAPL, PeakCAN, etc.).
Knowledge of GSR2 and NCAP ADAS safety feature scenarios, with experience using soft targets, VRUs, and robotic testing platforms.
Several years of experience working with Tier 1/2 suppliers or OEMs and an understanding of automotive processes and workflows.
Programming skills for integration, testing, and automation (e.g., Python, C++).
Creativity and problem-solving skills suited for innovative and fast-paced environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Skills:
Experience with ADAS/AD components such as FMCW radars, cameras, and vehicle control systems at a Tier 1 or OEM level.
Broad knowledge of ADAS/AD systems and the interaction between mechanical, electrical, and software components.
Familiarity with benchmarking, calibration, and post-processing methods and tools.
Proficiency with agile development tools (e.g., Jira, Jama).
Understanding of relevant regulations and standards (GSR2, Euro NCAP, NHTSA, ASPICE, ISO 26262, FMVSS).
Experience in project management, supplier management, or cross-functional team leadership. Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree (minimum) in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 5 years (Sr. level) or 3 years (non-Sr. level) of automotive industry experience; OR
Master's degree (minimum) in the same fields plus 3 years (Sr. level) or 1 year (non-Sr. level) of automotive industry experience. Benefits at eShocan:
