PLC Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled PLC/Controls Technician for a hybrid role that supports the mechanical maintenance of our facility. The ideal candidate must possess intermediate PLC knowledge to effectively work on these systems.
Responsibilities
Participate in the installation, alteration, repair, and maintenance of industrial electrical systems, motors, generators, fixtures, appliances, and mechanical equipment.
Maintain and alter electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
Locate and correct power failures and motor troubles efficiently.
Perform preventative maintenance on PLC systems and program or repair them as needed.
Conduct preventative maintenance or repairs on advanced production equipment when necessary.
Perform breakdown analysis to identify root causes of issues.
Oversee or perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work environment.
Upgrade production lines with new or enhanced equipment and technology.
Change line setups for package changeovers as required.
Modify, maintain, or repair electronic equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
Replace defective components or parts using hand tools and precision instruments.
Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematic drawings, or engineering instructions.Essential Skills
Experience with CMMS (SAP) Systems.
Experience with basic electrical systems, including starters, fuses, contacts, and relays.
Proficiency in electrical systems, such as 3 phase, 480V, 120V, and 24V controls.
Experience with electronics, including level probes, flow meters, and drives/VFDs.
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints.
Strong troubleshooting skills, including diagnostics and problem solving.
Proficiency in PLC programming and automation controls.
Experience using RS Logix 5000, RS Logix 500, or RS Logix 5 software for machine troubleshooting.
Capability to go online with Control Logix, Compact Logix, SLC500, or PLC5 using Ethernet I/P, DH+, or RS232.
Ability to download PLC programs when necessary.
Proficiency with multimeters and experience working in control panels with up to 480VAC.
Understanding of symbols on P&ID’s and tag references on line layouts.
Ability to replace and configure AB Powerflex 40, 400, and 525 VFDs and Yaskawa V1000 and P1000 VFDs.
Experience with replacing and downloading applications using Panelbuilder 32 and RS View Studio Machine Edition.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The position operates in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a schedule of 2 days off, 3 days on, 3 days off. The plant runs 7 days a week, including holidays. First shift hours are from 5am to 5pm, while third shift hours are from 5pm to 5am.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
