Job Description
The CNC Machine Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the machines. The primary responsibilities include keeping the machine running efficiently, removing finished parts, and conducting quality checks using micrometers and calipers. As the operator gains experience, they will advance to performing their own machine setups and offsets. Initially, the focus will be on maintaining machine operation and ensuring the output of high-quality parts. Opportunities are available on both the 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Responsibilities
Ensure the machine remains operational and efficient.
Remove completed parts from the machine.
Perform quality checks on parts using micrometers and calipers.
Progress to conducting machine setups and offsets over time.Essential Skills
Proficiency in using micrometers and calipers.
Basic math skills.
Ability to read basic blueprints.
Mechanical aptitude and experience with hand and power tools.Additional Skills & Qualifications
1+ year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read a tape measure and verify skills through references.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a machine shop with 250 employees, including 130 machinists spread across five shifts. The shop handles parts of varying sizes, from a few pounds to 10 tons. The shifts include 3rd shift from Sunday to Thursday, weekend 3rd shift, and weekend 2nd shift. Employees can earn shift premiums, with $1/hour for the 2nd shift, $3/hour for the 3rd shift, and $4/hour for weekend shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MANITOWOC, Wisconsin.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $20.50/hr.
