Job Title: Grinder/Shop Labor

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled grinder to join our team, focusing on engine blocks and crankshafts. The successful candidate will be responsible for boring, honing, and grinding tasks. Initially, the role will involve labor-based duties, with progression to grinding and machining responsibilities following comprehensive training. Given the precision and high value of the parts, thorough training is crucial before independent work is undertaken.

Responsibilities

Bore and hone engine blocks to precise specifications.

Grind crankshafts with attention to detail and accuracy.

Operate machines for grinding and machining tasks.

Maintain high standards of workmanship with tight tolerance parts.Essential Skills

At least 1 year of machine operating experience in a metal manufacturing environment.

Proficiency in using hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and general machine shop equipment.

Ability to work well within a team and follow directions effectively.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with grinding and machining processes.

Familiarity with maintaining organized workspaces in a machine shop environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a small, organized machine shop with 8 to 10 full-time employees. The environment is typical of a grinding shop, slightly dirty but well-arranged. Engage in engine remanufacturing for locomotive and semi engine blocks and crankshafts. Join a team that values organization and precision.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
