Job Title: CNC Boring Mill Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Boring Mill Machinist to operate a Toshiba CNC Boring Mill. The ideal candidate will have the ability to read and interpret shop drawings and sketches, calculate locations and compound angles using trigonometric functions, determine proper tooling to use, and set proper feeds and speeds for the material being processed.
Responsibilities
Understand the scope of each job and the time frame for completion.
Clarify any unclear or confusing drawing details.
Gather necessary tooling and job set-up components.
Securely and logically set up the job (with labor assistance if necessary) and lift fifty to seventy-five pounds.
Have the foreman check each job set-up.
Double-check each calculation and measurement.
Ensure there is clean and adequate coolant in the sump, and replace coolant as necessary.
Maintain proper levels of lubricants in the machine, adding lubricants if below capacity.
Machine each piece efficiently and professionally.
Keep the machine and work area clean.
Complete detailed inspection reports while the piece is in position on the table and before changing position.
Remove the work piece from the table (with labor help if necessary) and clean the table for the next set-up.
Enter the time spent on each job or job sub-set at the completion of each job or sub-set, and at the end of each shift.
Report any malfunctions, material defects, or machining mistakes immediately.
Assist other machinists by answering questions or helping to locate tools or set-up components.
Respect the property of others.Essential Skills
Experience with vertical milling and vertical boring milling
Proficiency in Mastercam
Strong understanding of trigonometry, precision machining, and precision measuring
Ability to operate precision measuring equipment
Experience with table routers, tool installation, and tool change
Troubleshooting skills
Experience with boring mills, lubrication, and tooling set-up
Knowledge of CNC preventative maintenance and CNC maintenance
Proficiency with calipers and micrometersAdditional Skills & Qualifications
GD&T certification
VTL experience
Program editing knowledge (Mastercam)

Work Environment
Our shop is clean, well-lit, and non-temperature controlled. We currently have 8 machinists on staff and aim to increase to 12. We have recently installed a lightly used boring mill. The environment is very laid back with a very clean and organized tool room. We operate only a first shift, working roughly 60-hour weeks (6 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday) with half days on Saturdays. Overtime is optional.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
