Position: Accountant
Location: Casper, WY 82601
Duration: Full-time
Shift: Mon-Friday (7.30 am to 4.30 pm)
Person must be ready to support extended hours and weekend work (on request)
Summary
This is a full time position that is responsible for performing accounting duties, participating in the monthly closing process, and preparing financial statements. Work involves a level of problem solving and a basic accounting understanding. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Responsibilities include the following.
• Enters data into accounting systems.
• Inputs journal entries.
• Performs account reconciliations.
• Performs transactional accounting entries.
• Validates data against system reports.
• Verifies that controls and processes have been followed.
• Ensures all entries are adequately supported, as per procedure
• Works with operations to problem solve.
• Works with vendors or customers to problem solve.
• Participates in monthly, quarterly and annual close processes to ensure all relevant data has been captured in appropriate time period.
• Opens mail. Scanning documents.

Required Education, Experience and/or Abilities: A college degree in accounting or supplemental work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
• Ability to correspond in an informative and professional manner.
• Ability to calculate financial amounts and indicators.
• Ability to carry out instruction and ask for help when needed.
• Preferred Education, Experience and/or Abilities - Oil and gas experience preferred.
• Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, and Excel. Experience with Oracle is preferred.
• Additional Eligibility Qualifications: English language fluency, verbal and written.
• Acceptable results of a pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol test.
