Job Summary:
Leads preventative maintenance activities, troubleshoots processes and process equipment, and executes equipment repairs/modifications. This is a hands-on position that requires the majority of time to be spent on the production floor working on the equipment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns and performs mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance whenever required to ensure uninterrupted customer supply.
Respond to maintenance requests from the production team as assigned by the shift lead.
Maintain preventative maintenance schedules
Work with OEM’s to obtain technical support via phone/email Position Requirements Required Skills:
Fluent in all kinds of technical documentation including but not limited to drawings, schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam, etc.)
Hands on experience with automated equipment, PLC’s, manufacturing, and robotics
Proficiency using digital multimeter, oscilloscope, and basic hand tools
Knowledge of devices and instrumentation used in automated machinery (PNP/NPN, types of proximity sensors, analog/digital, amplitude/sensitivity, etc.)
Experience with the following systems and their associated components: steam (preferably clean steam), pneumatic, hydraulic, and water (preferably WFI)
Ability to complete work in a cGMP compliant fashion, with all associated paperwork and environments (clean areas, sterile gowning, ISO 5)
Proficiency with Office 365 products, particularly Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Prior use of RCA to determine failure mode, including creating and implementing solutions to prevent reoccurrence of the failure
Works with hand tools, lockout/tagout, chemicals, etc., demonstrating proper safety precautions
Provides technical support for troubleshooting equipment problems which are beyond the Production Associate’s capability to address.
Repairs, rebuilds, adjusts, inspects, and monitors production and/or facility related equipment and machinery.
Implements equipment modifications or improvements
Performs other duties as required to meet the needs of the department and company
Preferred Skills:
Experience working in a cGMP environment and the requirements associated (change controls, cleanliness)
Ability to use PLC for equipment troubleshooting
Electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering or design
Experience maintaining fill/finish, packaging, and sterilizing equipment in a pharmaceutical or F&B environment
Uphold SQF requirements including promotion of a strong & positive food safety culture
Active involvement in implementation, upkeep and continuous improvement of food safety as part of an interdisciplinary team

Education and Experience:
High School degree or equivalent
3-5 years experience with industrial equipment maintenance or equivalent military experience.
Previous experience in food manufacturing preferred
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts
Perform repetitive or continue behavior including lifting 20-30 pounds
Frequently lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds and up to 65 pounds rarely.
Frequent bending, crouching, or twisting
Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes to complete work assignments
