Job Description
The Tool Room Attendant is responsible for the checking in and out of tools and parts in the tool room. They will need to provide outstanding service to our internal customers. They are responsible for making sure that all tools and parts are accounted for in the inventory system. The Tool Room Attendant also understands how to use the equipment and how to explain the process to newer employees. They also must have knowledge of the marine service industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Support the Tool Room Counter to work with the Service and Maintenance associates who will request tools and equipment required to service vessels or perform maintenance.
2. Unpack and log new tools in to the inventory system
3. Follow process and procedure for checking tools in and out of the inventory system
4. Provide maintenance on the tools to make sure they are in good working order and can be operated safely
5. Monitor inventory and advise manager on inventory levels
6. Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
7. HS Diploma or GED
8. Proven experience as maintenance or service employee
9. Experience in planning maintenance or service operations
10. Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
11. Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
12. Ability to keep track of and report on activity
13. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
14. Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
15. Ability work independently to achieve goals and targets;
16. Ability to organize and prioritize work;
17. Ability to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and corporate goals;
