Job Title: Assistant Director of Finance Department: Finance Reports to: Director of Finance Job Summary: The Assistant Director of Finance plays a key role in overseeing the hotel’s financial operations, with a specific focus on payroll processing, compliance, and accuracy.

This role also supports broader accounting functions, ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, and compliance with all financial regulations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities: • Oversee and manage the full-cycle payroll process to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payment to all employees.

• Maintain and update payroll records, timekeeping systems, and employee information in accordance with labor laws and internal policies.

• Ensure compliance with all payroll-related tax regulations, government filings, and reporting requirements.

• Collaborate with HR to reconcile payroll changes, benefit deductions, and employee classifications.

• Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports, statements, and reconciliations.

• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate payroll cost data and analysis.

• Supervise accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, cash handling, and audit compliance.

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and assist in audits as required.

• Train and lead accounting team members to ensure high standards of accuracy and accountability.

• Continuously seek improvements in payroll and accounting processes to enhance efficiency and control.

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required); CPA or certification in payroll (e.g.

CPP) is a plus.

• Minimum 3–5 years of hotel finance experience, including direct payroll processing experience.

• In-depth knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., JDE, Infor SunSystems, Profit Sword, A3 or similar). • In-depth knowledge of PMS and POS systems (e.g., OPERA, Micros, or similar). • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar) and timekeeping tools.

• Familiarity with labor laws, tax reporting, and compliance requirements.

• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.

• Proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.

• Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
