Position: Electrical Installation Manager
Location: Grand Rapids. MI
The Electrical Installation Manager is responsible for the successful planning, managing and executing all aspects of electrical installation, including packaging equipment installation activities & personnel management.
Responsibilities:
Directly responsible for leading the Electrical Installation Department.
Develops & maintains the Electrical Department budget, including staffing & compensation, capital expenditures & annual expenses.
Work closely with the Mechanical Installation Manager to coordinate & optimize installations. This includes resource allocation, schedule development & adherence, etc. based on project requirements.
Develops & maintains a pool of subcontractor.
Evaluate project requirements and allocate sufficient controls resources to ensure that installations meet & exceed customer standards related to safety, quality & schedule.
Develop project budgets that maximize profitability, track costs and monitor progress utilizing internal systems.
Assist the Project Managers with defining the installation scope & schedule per customer requirements.
Coordinate with Project Mangers to ensure that installation crews have all necessary project documentation and/or equipment. This includes but is not limited to rental equipment, gang boxes & installation drawings.
Maintain and communicate a resource schedule to electricians & Project Managers based on project resource requests in a timely manner.
Participate in the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of electricians.
Develop and implement a training plan for electricians & maintain an up-to-date training status of all electricians. This includes the Electrical Apprenticeship program and additional individual training needs as defined by the Manager.
Writes & distributes electrical bid documents.
Specifies & orders appropriate electrical materials for projects.
Serve as a backup for the Mechanical Installation Manager when he or she is unavailable. This will include scheduling resources, time approvals, per diem review & other duties as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
5+ years as a licensed Master Electrician with an emphasis on industrial installations. Construction or project management experience is preferred.
Valid Master Electrician License & Electrical Contractor’s License (if you don’t have, the company will help you obtain). High School Diploma or GED required.
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD.
40-50% travel required, will be more heavy in travel during onboarding to meet customers and work directly with the Team during installations.
