Job Summary
Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Project Manager & Estimator to join their team. This role involves overseeing all phases of construction projects, from initial concept to completion, while also providing accurate cost estimation and budgeting. The successful candidate will manage relationships with corporate clients, ensuring the timely delivery of projects within budget and to the highest standards.
As the Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of construction professionals, coordinating resources, and ensuring all project milestones are met. As the Estimator, you will utilize your industry expertise to prepare comprehensive cost estimates and contribute to strategic decision-making during the bidding process.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation.
Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple construction projects, coordinating tasks, materials, equipment, and personnel.
Interface with clients to ensure project requirements are met, and provide regular updates on progress and potential issues.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential project delays or challenges.
Foster a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors, to achieve project objectives.
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for project proposals, including material, labor, and overhead costs.
Review construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation to determine project requirements.
Analyze project specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value-engineering options.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive bids and quotes.
Ensure that project budgets align with client expectations and adjust estimates based on changes in scope or unforeseen conditions.
Assist in the preparation of bid submissions and participate in the negotiation process.
Serve as the primary point of contact for corporate clients throughout the life of the project.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
Address any client concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
Provide post-project support, including warranty work and final walk-throughs.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management and estimating within the general contracting industry.
Proven experience working with corporate clients
Professional certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred.
Experience with construction management software and estimating tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Sage, etc.).
Skills:
Strong knowledge of construction processes, project management methodologies, and estimating techniques.
Organized, and willing to pivot when it based on client needs
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contracts.
Proficient in all Microsoft Office & Projects
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage client and subcontractor relationships.
In-depth understanding of budgeting, cost control, and contract administration.
