Chief Technology Officer, SightLine Systems

SightLine is currently launching a new service for the Aquaculture industry. This new SaaS solution includes mobile application which helps Aqua Farmers manage their crops more efficiently. The SightLine software suite of products has been sold, supported and enhanced for more than fifteen years. SightLine software products are currently used by a broad customer base engaged in financial services, transportation, manufacturing, government defense management, and aquaculture. SightLine Systems counts among its many customers some of the world's largest and most complex entities.
Location
The company is based in Fairfax, Virginia. Minimal travel is likely required with this position. Work from the company office is required.
Reporting Relationships
This position is a senior level position within SightLine. It reports to Brandon Witte, the President and CEO.
The Opportunity
SightLine recognizes the importance of maintaining its reputation for dependability in the marketplace. Solid general management competencies, including a firm grasp of project management, software development and customer support are necessary to ensure success.
The successful placement will be a seasoned, mature Director who has succeeded in building and leading high performing software groups, and will be thoroughly versed in techniques, performance monitoring and capacity planning. He/she will have experience with maintenance of mature products for technically demanding customers and will be a skilled, well-rounded Director who has played many roles within multiple organizations.
The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, focused leader who is capable of quickly taking control of a small organization and will have the ability to understand customer needs and implement creative solutions.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for the company’s software program. They will report directly to CEO, developing Product Roadmap, conducting Research and Development Activities as approved by management, and ensuring timely execution of product releases and support. This candidate will also have responsibility for the Software Support component and finally internal IT requirements, systems and infrastructure.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following required experience and qualifications:
A minimum of 10 years management experience, with a proven track record of successfully managing complex and mission critical applications.
Experience in developing software in C / Java programming languages.
Experience with Jira Project Management Platform.
Outstanding reputation and established credibility in the industry.
Strong leadership skills, versatile and strategic, yet willing to get “into the details” and be hands-on.

Education
A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university is desired.
Compensation
A highly competitive compensation package will be tailored for the selected candidate. Base compensation will be complemented with a performance-based, cash incentive.
