JOB SUMMARY
This position works closely with the Tooling Coordinator, the Engineering Department, Draftsmen and other Department Managers to ensure production has the needed tooling on time to manufacture or assemble products. You will be expected to develop processes to ensure machined parts meet print design/tolerances, that are cost effective and efficient. This position is responsible for the setting up and operating a Tsugami B0123-III Swiss Screw machine.as well as other general lathe, mill and machinist type tasks. You will also be expected to develop processes to ensure machined parts meet print design and are made cost effective and efficient. Works with Engineering, Department Managers and Draftsmen on design and prints.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Follow all safety and HESS policies.
· Must be able to use advanced mathematical calculations such as geometry and trigonometry.
· Expected to maintain machinery, equipment, and tools.
· Working knowledge regarding inspection tools and use.
· Program Tsugami Swiss machine
· Perform machine setup, operation, and first article inspections on Swiss machine
· Run production while performing "in-process" quality inspections
· Contribute to process improvements and report any operational challenges
· Will also be required to program, setup and run CNC Mill, CNC Lathe, Manual Surface Grinder, Horizontal Bandsaw
· Communicate with Department Managers and Plant Manager on nonconformance issues and general discussion.
· Participate in department audits and ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner.
· Make fact-based decisions using data and historical knowledge.
· Must maintain a clean and organized area by using the 5S Principals.
· Recommends measures to improve tool room operations for safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
· Proficient in reading blueprints and understanding specifications and GD&T
· Must maintain a clean and organized area by using the 5S Principals.
· Be dedicated to continuous improvement. Research and brainstorming.
· Support company objective and utilize best practices to meet goals.
· Monitors set up and adjustments of machines.
· Conducts light machine maintenance and repair.
· Performs tool and die making duties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
· High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) .
· 2-year technical degree/certificate in machining or equivalent.
· 5+ years’ experience programing and operating CNC machines.
· 3+ years in Swiss machining environment, familiar with Tsugami machines.
· Cam software programming experience, GibbsCam preferred.
· Knowledge in G&M codes relating to Swiss machining.
· Ability to accurately read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Willingness to learn, understanding the importance of learning new information for both current and future projects. Ability to collaborate with a team, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
