JOB SUMMARY
The Membership Advisor is appointed by the Membership Director. The Membership Advisor’s are responsible for following the Sales Makers process 100% with a focus on evaluating and presenting how the club can meet the needs of prospective members. The Membership Advisor’s work Schedule will be floating with evenings and weekend hours with a degree of flexibility. There will be outlined expected hours at the club approved by the Membership Director. Hours needed to accomplish certain tasks and goals of the position often go above and beyond the outline expected hours. These hours are not in lieu of regular work schedule.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To be informed of current membership sales campaigns and to be able to intelligently present them to prospects
To be knowledgeable of all club activities
To greet all guests entering the club and arrange a tour or appointment
To make a minimum of thirty(30) phone contacts per day. Achieve this by allotting 15 -30 minutes for every hour
To schedule and confirm a minimum of three (3) appointments daily (not including renewals)
To fully and legibly complete all membership agreements and accompanying paperwork for each sale
To complete daily worksheets and submit them to the Membership Director at the end of each shift
To encourage new member participation through the use of motivational telephone calls
To establish a rapport with members and be on a first name basis with as many as possible
To interact in a professional manner with other club staff members
To maintain a 1-31 file box of all contacts and follow ups
To attend ALL sales meetings unless prearranged with the Membership Director
To further their knowledge of sales techniques through books or tapes
To inform the control desk of their whereabouts when in the club
To present a professional demeanor at all times when representing the club
Be ready for tours and presentations at all times
Daily Workbook must be in order
Physical appearance / attire must be up to standards
Office must be kept in order
Referral process is to be followed with each and every sale
Breaks will be taken singularly. If you take a 1/2-hour break, it is your responsibility to inform the other membership advisors in addition to the front desk. Unless no one else is available, you should not take information calls or walk-ins (ups) while on breaks
Every tour and all information calls are to be logged on the daily worksheet - NO EXCEPTIONS
Schedule at least one hour per day of Corporate Outreach and log all contacts and results in the Corporate Control Log
Send thank you notes to all greeted guest and joined members within 48 hours
Requirements:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be highly motivated
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent attitude and networking skills
A comprehensive understanding of Sales Makers operation procedures
REQUIRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Must have experience in sales
Experience in a health club or the hospitability industry is preferred
College degree preferred
CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire)
