Job Title: Exhibit Experience Intern

Employer Status: Intern - Unpaid

Reports to: Exhibit Developer

Position Summary:

Interns will have the opportunity to enhance current Museum of the Bible (MOTB) exhibits and inform future exhibits with a focus on visitor experience. This hands-on role includes interfacing with visitors, data analysis, and report writing. Interns will gain valuable skills in exhibit evaluation, research, and communication.

Interns will assess the impact and accessibility of exhibits, research and develop surveys, analyze data, and provide insights to inform new exhibit projects. They may have the opportunity to help source and track content for upcoming exhibitions. Throughout the internship, interns will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of exhibit planning, installation, and deinstallation.

A final project will involve presenting the survey data collected throughout the internship, developing visualization tools, and writing reports that provide valuable insights into the museum’s exhibits.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Researching and developing exhibit evaluation techniques.

Interacting with museum visitors, conducting visitor questionnaires, and gathering qualitative and quantitative feedback.

Analyzing and interpreting data collected from evaluations.

Assessing the museum's permanent and temporary exhibits for accessibility, ensuring they meet the needs of diverse audiences.

Collaborating with the Exhibits Team to assist in day-to-day exhibition-related tasks and projects.

Developing a final presentation and report based on survey data, summarizing observations and patterns, and making recommendations to enhance visitor experience in MOTB’s exhibitions.

Education Requirements:

Undergraduate or graduate student. Must currently be enrolled in or a recent graduate from a college or university.

Qualifications:

Strong research, analytical, and communication skills

Enthusiasm for learning about museum studies, exhibit design, storytelling, data management, and enhancing visitor experiences.

Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
