Warehouse / Dock Supervisor

Job Description

The Warehouse/Dock Supervisor performs functions that are vital to the operations of the Amped Kitchens loading dock and communal storage areas as it relates to deliveries, shipments, tenant storage, and food safety guidelines. The Warehouse Supervisor reports to the Facilities Supervisor, working in tandem with the buildings Janitorial and Maintenance Team, as well as the buildings clients and their employees.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Manages incoming and outgoing deliveries and operations of the loading dock.

Manages the flow of pallets incoming and outgoing in each storage area to ensure efficient movement, food safety, and tenant access.

Load and unload freight in a safe, efficient manner to avoid shipping errors that result in tenant claims or complaints.

Perform daily inspection of electric pallet stacker, electric pallet jack and other dock/warehouse equipment.

Ensures proper documentation and delivery of packages to tenants and the Management Office.

Understands the needs of the tenants and priorities of the building and assists in managing and resolving issues related to the dock and storage area in a proactive manner.

Performing a daily inspection of the warehouse grounds ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with company’s policies and vision to ensure efficient space utilization.

Works closely with the Facilities Supervisor on tenant allocation, organization, layout, and monthly usage reports for the communal storage areas.

Communicates with tenants via telephone, text, email, and in person to ensure proper chain of custody for deliveries as required.

Ensures cleanliness and maintenance of the dock and storage areas for daily operations and compliance with health and food safety regulations.

Ensures proper food safety guidelines are adhered to in the storage areas.

Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of basic warehouse and dock procedures.

Must possess computer skills and typing ability.

Ability to multitask and continually prioritize a changing workload.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Report and respond to any unsafe and unclean work environments and violations.

Must be available to work weekends, holidays, or when needed due to business or emergency needs.

Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate effectively and professionally through verbal and written communication.

Must be able to interact and get along with others.

Strong customer service, time management and interpersonal skills required.

Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Forklift experience in a dock setting.

1-2 years of forklift experience.

Forklift certification is wanted but not required before hire.

Chicago Food Handlers required but not before hire.

Bilingual Preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
