Overview:
ASR International Corp is seeking a part-time (24-32 hours per week) contractor Quality Inspector role for oilfield mechanical parts on an assignment supporting a large oilfield operations customer at their facility located on Rankin Road (Houston, TX 77073). The position requires strong background in mechanical inspection of oilfield parts, assemblies, and subassemblies; use of calibrated measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gages, etc.); ability to interpret drawings and blueprints; and background in GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing).
Location: 2001 Rankin Road, Houston, TX 77073 (on-site)
Schedule: Part-time, 24-32 hours per week expected (flexibility on days of the week to be worked, typical 8-hour shift is 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), additional hours as needed per customer approval.
Typical Duties/Tasks/Responsibilities:
Inspect mechanical parts, assemblies and subassemblies to drawings
Record dimensional results on inspection sheets
Keep inspection folders organized for those part being inspected
Ensure use of calibrated measuring instruments
Completes and maintains inspection records, inspection logs, calibration
Initiates non-conformance reports on all products, parts, assemblies and subassemblies that are not to requirements.
Ability to understand and interpret technical drawings, specifications and procedures
Responsible for performing inspections such as visual, dimensional and NDE
Verifies completeness of all operations and records
Collaborates with site quality and manufacturing engineering on RCA, corrective actions and continuous improvement
Works with Customer's management system databases and systems (SAP, etc.)
Actively participate in HSE programs as assigned
Adhere to the Qualified to Perform (QTP) program always as well as all other Quality requirements
Typical Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years inspection and Mechanical/QC experience
Demonstrated ability to interpret drawings and use of precision measuring device, micrometers, dial indicators, and other various gages.
GD&T knowledge (Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing) desired
Knowledge of SAP desired
Proficient mathematical skills
Strong communication skills - both oral and written
Safety oriented mindset
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
