Job Description
As a Manufacturing Operator, you will play a crucial role in a team that contributes significantly to fields like cancer research, environmental protection, and food safety. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join our Microbiology Division, where you will work on products that make a difference in a manufacturing setting. Our Operators are responsible for assisting with the manufacturing process of agars, including loading products, checking volumes, and ensuring quality.
Responsibilities
Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Supervisor or Lead.
Set up and adjust machines to run at different sizes.
Obtain correct materials for operation needs from the warehouse or staging area.
Organize production flow, ensure materials are available, estimate progress of the line, and schedule breaks according to production time schedules safely.
Accurately document and check personal work for quality and compliance, monitor products for defects, and assist with the inventory process.
Complete production assignments in a timely manner and in accordance with departmental schedules.Essential Skills

3 months of production experience preferred but not required.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment such as production, fast food, retail, or restaurant.

Work Environment
The work environment consists of a large facility with two separate buildings, maintaining high standards for cleanliness and adherence to regulations due to pharmaceutical manufacturing. Production lines have clear instructions posted for PPE and room rules. Supervisors are initially tough on contractors but focus on training and retention once you prove yourself. The 325,000-square-foot Middletown plant, located on 18 acres, produces in vitro diagnostic testing instruments used to detect diseases, infections, and other conditions.

This is a Contract position based out of Middletown, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.43/hr.
