VOD Hardware Integrator

Role Overview

Guest-Tek is seeking a VOD Hardware Integrator to support the integration of third-party hardware components (TVs, STBs, Appliances) with our software products. This role involves hands on testing, troubleshooting, firmware tracking, and maintaining Video-On-Demand (VOD) hardware while collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Perform field acceptance and beta testing of new hardware integration with our internal products and software.

Establish and maintain relationships with hardware vendors.

Maintain VOD equipment in the training facility and test lab.

Manage certification and configuration documentation for VOD hardware.

Assist in diagnosing escalated field integration issues.

Support development testing and quality assurance for hardware-related software components.

Qualifications & Skills

Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or comparable job experience.

Proficiency in Linux OS and networking protocols.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Experience with serial communication protocols (an asset).

Familiarity with media-related hardware (e.g., set-top boxes, video servers, TVs, media hubs).

Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, PHP, CSS (an asset).

Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL (an asset).

Interest in software/hardware interface development.

Comfortable communicating technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
