Certified Ophthalmic Assistant

Job Description

A busy, two-office ophthalmology practice is seeking a full-time, experienced ophthalmic technician to join our team. (Part-time possible for the right person.) The ideal candidate is self-motivated and energetic and possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. The Pay for this position is starting pay, and there is a growth opportunity. For experienced Techs, the pay will be based on your experience and discussed during the interview.

Expected skill set includes but is not limited to:

Performing exam room setup, preparation of patients for exam, and assisting physician during exams

Strong verbal and written communication to accurately assess patients and document histories

Experience with visual fields, manual refraction, applanation tonometry, and OCT is a must.

Requirements:

Willingness to travel to both locations mandatory. The locations are Warren & Macomb

Working knowledge of the eye anatomy, disease, and ocular medications

Experience is REQUIRED, COA/COT preferred
