Job Description
Temporary Position: 8–12 Weeks
Schedule: 11 Hours per Day, 7 Days a Week - Local candidates only
Description (Altadena, CA and/or Pacific Palisades)
The Quality Control (QC) Manager will report to the Corporate Quality Control Director and may perform production-related duties. Quality Control Manager must manage the Contractor Quality Control program and organization for the assigned project to assure compliance with the site-specific Quality Control Plan and contract requirements.The Quality Control Manager will be the primary spokesperson on matters related to the CQC Program to include any formal communication with our client.

Principal Accountabilities
Take appropriate action to ensure that work is performed in accordance with the ECC Quality Control Program, the design, the contract specifications, pertinent building codes & practices as well as national and local standards
Ensure implementation of the Three-Phase Control Process in accordance with Company standards and contract requirements
Work to actively promote and support the safety program with subcontractors and project team members on a daily basis
Ensure that required testing is conducted, evaluate test results, ensure results meet specifications, and document results
Inspect and document the receipt of all materials to ensure compliance with contract documents
Prepare and/or review of design and material submittals
Complete quality related documentation (field reports, logs, and records) in a timely and accurate manner
Investigate and recommend solutions to resolve construction problems related to quality
Ensure implementation, documentation and close-out of corrective actions
Initiate stop work or re-work in coordination with the project team in circumstances with respect to work methodologies nonconformance
Process submittals to ensure that they meet the contract and project requirements and are submitted to the client as required and in a timely matter.
Author and log Requests for Information (RFIs)
Manage effort to close out the project in a timely manner
In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
Basic Requirements
The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy and tact
An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning
Skilled in setting up quality control testing equipment
Demonstrated knowledge of compliance in government construction
Proven knowledge in reading and comprehending construction plans and related technical documents
Successful track record in effectively engaging with subcontractors
Competent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and Windows
Must possess a current Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractor’s certificate or the ability to obtain one within 60 days.
One (1) year of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Supervisor, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on construction projects.
Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Building Construction, or Building Science. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
Preferred Proficiency Requirements
Applicable certifications in Quality
Two (2) years or more of combined experience as a Superintendent, QC Supervisor, Project Manager, or Project Engineer on construction projects.
Knowledge of USACE Resident Management System (RMS)
OSHA 30 Hour Construction Certification
Familiarity with workplace health and safety concepts
First Aid and CPR Certification
Prior experience with Federal Government DoD construction projects
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
This position requires office as well as field work on project sites.
Ability to work schedules which may vary in duration and location, travel will be required and may include international travel.
Ability to distinguish figures and symbols and utilize office equipment including computers, keyboard, etc. (this includes exposure to repetitive motions of the wrists and hands)
Exposure to indoor and outdoor work environments with hazards typically found on a munitions / construction site (moving vehicles & equipment, dust, noise, and potentially hazardous materials)
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and walk for extended periods of time on various surfaces
Work outdoors in typical environmental and weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, snow)Company Description
