Position: Packaging Machine Operator
Pay Rate: $21.15 /hourly + .25 shift differential
Location: Stockton, CA
Schedule: Shifts: Day, Swing, and Graveyard Must be open to all shifts and days
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Packaging Machine Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging machinery, ensuring products are packaged efficiently and meet quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Efficiency - Anticipating film and coding ribbon changes to maximize machine up time.
Line Logs - Fills out paperwork accurately and legibly. Use bar coding equipment as required.
Personnel - Help in the training of new employees.
Trouble Shooting - Monitor the equipment and hunt down and correct problems. Immediately contact supervision or maintenance if persistent problem occurs.
Operate packaging equipment associated with manufacturing process.
Demonstrate technical competency with vertical form fill and horizontal form fill packaging equipment.
Troubleshoot and adjust statistical weighed to drive low giveaway and low film waste, while maximizing labor efficiency of the line.
Use tools for minor adjustment as required. Knows the targets/goals for his/her work center and adjusts equipment to achieve targets.
Packaging Supplies - Check for defects and assure that the proper film, boxes, dividers etc. are used. Input Material - Monitor products for defects and assure product size, bleached/unbleached and dryness are within standards.
Finished Product Quality - Constantly monitor finished bags of product for appearance, Day Code and other printing, back and end sealing.
Weight Control-Monitor package weights and make adjustments to achieve product giveaway targets.
Performs assigned jobs with minimum direction and supervision.
Set up and adjust packaging machines to production specifications.
Perform all duties with required safety equipment and comply with all safety regulations and company policies.
Must obtain PIT/Forklift license within 90 days of training start date.
Adhere to safety Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)Other Duties as assigned relevant to successfully completing the job.
Performs other duties related to packaging as assigned.
Knowledge, ability and Skills:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision.
Work flexible shifts and schedules including overtime. Ability to understand manufacturing processes.
Documents the sanitary/safety conditions by completing the necessary “Checklists” as required.
Understand and has reviewed/signed all safe work procedures for the work area.
Practices safe work procedures and wears all safety and sanitation equipment as required for the job.
This position requires safety equipment be worn such as, but not limited to, protective footwear, hard hats, and ear plugs.
Also, additional items may be required by a supervisor when working in a specific area.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Computer literacy/skills
Strong ability to understand diagrams, sketches, and schematics.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Must take and pass the machine operator test.
Required to work any shift.
Required to work overtime if necessary.
Required to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must pass forklift certification class.
Experience with basic Microsoft application (e.g., Word, Excel).
Knowledge of food and packaging equipment.
Knowledge of filling and labeling equipment.
Must be computer literate to include MS Office Suite, OIT/HMI usage and process control functionality.Company Description
