We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, Social Worker to join Ramapo Ridge (RRBH). RRBH is a 58-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital licensed by the State of New Jersey and accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC). Our behavioral hospital serves adults from 18 years of age through the senior years. RRBH includes a general adult psychiatric division treating adults of all ages with various mental health diagnosis such as depression, bipolar illness, anxiety, schizophrenia, OCD and others. Our geriatric division is a locked, safe and secure newly renovated wing that specializes in various forms of Dementia, Alzheimer’s and a host of additional mental health diagnosis.

The Social Worker is primarily responsible for the provision of group therapy to support the Ramapo Ridge psychiatric program. These responsibilities include: leading groups, ensuring groups remain evidence-based and current, developing and implementing groups based on patient population, providing coverage for groups as needed and all aspects of required regulatory and accrediting agency documentation. Other responsibilities as directed by Director of Social Services, and Director of Ramapo Ridge may include: concrete case management and the provision of evidence-based clinical services (individual, group and family therapeutic, supportive and educational services) to psychiatric patients and their families, completing psychosocial assessments, attending team meetings and discharge planning as needed. The individual is competent to care for patients in the following age groups: adult (ages 18 - 64), and geriatric (ages 65 +). Demonstrates an understanding of, and embraces, the mission statement of Christian Health.

Competencies:

Maintains accurate, legible documentation, as well as billing records, as per RRPP/RRPH policy, regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.

Interviews patient, family, and significant others to obtain complete Social and Clinical History to complete Clinical assessments as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.

Contributes to the RRPP/RRPH Utilization Review process.

Responsible for running adult groups including managing existing groups, developing new groups, covering groups and all required documentation.

Provides support, education and assistance to families, with appropriate patient consent, regarding patient's illness, treatment, and discharge planning including information and referrals required for appropriate discharge, i.e.: Medicaid/Medicare.

Seeks and utilizes resources of community agencies, advising and referring patients to available, appropriate community resources and services. Facilitates communication with collateral providers from admission through discharge and follow-up.

Conducts patient and family interviews/sessions, as well as individual and group therapy, education and supportive services and may function as primary therapist in identified cases.

Facilitates continuity of care through timely and complete communication with collateral providers.

Assesses discharge planning needs to facilitate implementation of effective Discharge plan in a timely & accurate manner.

Attends Interdisciplinary Treatment Team Meetings. Prepared to offer Social Assessment and to participate in the development of individualized Wellness and Recovery Plans.

Experience: At least 1 (one) year experience in an acute psychiatric setting including a psychiatric inpatient hospital or partial hospital/intensive outpatient program is preferred.

Schedule: 8am-4pm, Monday - Friday, weekend coverage when needed.

Education: MSW from an Accredited School of Social Work, LSW required.

Licensure: Current valid New Jersey Licensed Social Work (LSW) required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrates compliance with the CH ASPIRE Standards of Performance.

Qualifications:

At least 1 (one) year experience in an acute psychiatric setting including a psychiatric inpatient hospital or partial hospital/intensive outpatient program is preferred.

Must be licensed by the State of New Jersey (LSW).

Valid driver's license preferred.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
