Subcontracts Manager

Busek is seeking a Subcontracts Manager to oversee subcontract management activities across our aerospace programs. This mid-level position is ideal for someone with 5+ years of experience in subcontract administration within an aerospace or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be a key liaison between Busek and its subcontractors, ensuring contract requirements, technical milestones, and program goals are met.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as the primary point of contact between Busek and subcontractors.
Develop subcontract specifications, statements of work (SOWs), terms and conditions, and negotiate requirements and scope.
Initiate and manage subcontracts throughout the full lifecycle, from the bidding phase through contract completion.
Collect and manage Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for Busek programs.
Track and report progress on subcontractor milestones, consulting regularly with program management, operations, engineering, and senior leadership.
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks across all subcontract activities; communicate impacts to cost and schedule with program management.
Ensure subcontractor deliverables meet Busek's technical, schedule, and cost requirements.
Support supplier evaluations and participate in make/buy decisions.
Maintain compliance with applicable FAR/DFARS, ITAR, and other regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; technical background preferred.
Minimum 5 years of subcontract management or supply chain experience in aerospace, defense, or manufacturing environments.
Demonstrated experience negotiating technical subcontracts and managing supplier performance.
Strong understanding of contract terms, flowdowns, and compliance requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical specifications and statements of work.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting government contracts and working with FAR/DFARS requirements.
Background in engineering or technical program management.
Experience working in a small to mid-sized manufacturing company environment.
