Our client is a leader in engineering solutions, committed to expanding their traffic practice across South Carolina. They seek a driven Senior Traffic Engineer who is eager to lead, innovate, and contribute to both technical and business development efforts.

Position Summary:

The Senior Traffic Engineer will be a pivotal technical leader, responsible for directing traffic engineering initiatives and engaging in business development, including proposal writing and market expansion. The role involves managing and designing various traffic-related projects while maintaining and fostering client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and develop the traffic practice throughout South Carolina.

- Manage and design a wide array of traffic projects, including but not limited to traffic signal plans, signing and pavement marking, crash analysis, planning, and analysis.

- Coordinate with clients, contractors, consultants, government agencies, and stakeholders.

- Serve as a mentor, overseeing and developing the skills of junior staff.

- Engage in strategic planning with office managers and practice leaders for market growth.

- Oversee budget management and resource allocation within the region/department.

- Conduct interviews, hire staff, and conduct performance reviews.

Business Development:

- Establish and expand market presence in South Carolina through proactive marketing activities.

- Lead and contribute to producing compelling proposals to secure new business opportunities.

Nonessential Functions:

- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

- Extensive experience in traffic engineering, including traffic studies, design, and project management.

- Strong client relationship-building skills.

- Proven ability to manage staff and coordinate projects effectively.

- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Established client relationships in the region.

- Experience in additional areas such as roadway lighting.
