Position Overview
The primary function of this position is to complete new store finish-out and major store remodels. Superintendents are responsible for the on-site management and coordination of all subs and trades, the schedule, inspections, client walk-throughs and similar job-site duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
A solid background in all aspects of retail finish-out including new store construction, major store remodels and open-store phased remodels.
A comprehensive understanding of floor plans, and similar construction drawings as they apply to layout of walls, placement of openings, electrical and plumbing, retail fixtures, dimensions, and placement of signage.
Duties include the supervision of sub-contractors in all finish-out trades in completing store locations.
Jobs often require daytime or nighttime supervision of tradesmen as well as the scheduling and receipt of materials overnight though the mall.
Previous experience with carpentry, fixture installation and general commercial remodeling is necessary.
You will have extensive Client contact and will need exceptional customer service skills.
Communications – you will be responsible for maintaining updated job files utilizing MS Excel and Outlook and, providing job-site progress photos utilizing digital photography.
Occasional “hands-on” labor will be required; however, this will be limited.
Requires some travel.
Requirements and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
Must be in good standing with DAVACOs preferred rental car companies.
Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous trade school courses are strongly preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience and a well-rounded background retail or restaurant finish-out and general commercial construction.
Previous Superintendent experience on retail remodeling or finish-out projects.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents
Ability to lift to 50 pounds, reach, stand, bend, pull, push, twist, and kneel.
Physical Requirements
Physical capability to lift, move, and position heavy fixtures and equipment (at least 50 pounds unassisted).
Stamina stand, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, climb ladders and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Travel Requirements
Willingness to travel to job sites as needed, including overnight stays.
Comfortable sharing accommodations with team members (if necessary)
Smartphone in good working condition with hands-free capability.
