Job Description

Position Overview:

The Back-End Developer/Engineer will play a pivotal role in the IT team supporting CareConnectMD’ s technological infrastructure and innovation. This candidate should be well skilled in interfacing tools, loading third-party data into tables, and designing stored procedures and jobs to support PowerBI and Clinical Command Center functionalities. Working with the CCMD business partners, the development organization follows Agile processes to ensure successful project execution and enable cross-functional collaboration. This role requires strong experience in healthcare IT projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Engineering:

Write code and tests, build prototypes, resolve issues, and profile and analyze bottlenecks.

Manage and optimize scalable distributed systems in the cloud.

Optimize web applications for performance and scalability.

Develop automated tests to ensure business needs are met and allow for regression testing.

Collaboration & Communication:

Strong collaboration skills supporting our business stakeholders to align technical initiatives with organizational goals.

Ensure clear, transparent communication on project statuses, milestones, and challenges.

Foster cross-departmental collaboration.

Ensure efficient handoff and communication of deliverables to stakeholders.

Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes and CCMD business.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience as a Back-End Developer/Engineer.

Proficiency with Microsoft DevOps or similar project management tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

Experience with Azure services and cloud-based environments.

Prior experience with healthcare IT systems, including familiarity with CCLF, HIE, and Power BI, is strongly preferred.

Strong data-driven mindset; familiarity with BI reporting tools like Power BI

Experience in writing highly secure web applications

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to work in the Costa Mesa office 1-2 days per week (at the discretion of hiring manager)

Very strong interpersonal skills and ability to build, facilitate and maintain relationships with business partners

Experience working with SQL and MySQL databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to resolve conflicts and remove obstacles.

Detail-oriented with strong engineering and time-management abilities.

Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, value-driven healthcare environment.

Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

Understanding of the Agile/Scrum methodology.

Experience designing and building secure API’s that interface with a front-end application.
