Picker/Packer/General Labor - Warehouse

Job Description

Position Summary:

Responsible for packing boxes with correct quantity and quality product into boxes.

Essential Functions:

Packs correct quantity into boxes.

Identifies and disposes of defective items.

Follows all company guidelines regarding packaging.

Pulls, packs, weighs, and labels products based on daily orders.

Ensures all packages are properly packaged and sealed.

Meets the specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.

Keeps products separated, organized, and accessible.

Monitors product quality and reports any problems or discrepancies.

Operates various pieces of equipment properly (i.e. hand tools, glues, padding, dolly, pallet wrapper, palletizer, and pallet jacks).

Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knows and follows proper office and GMP safety protocols; knows and follows Company’s grooming, hygiene and dress code policies including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.

Requirements:

Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.

High school diploma or GED preferred.

At least 6 months of experience in a similar industry or role preferred.

General understanding of packing procedures.

Basic knowledge and competency in arithmetic and able to identify dates.

Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Great communication skills in English.

Able to work in fast paced environment.

Must have physical dexterity of hands and fingers.

Work Environment:

The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.

The job will occasionally require lifting / carrying / push / pull up to 50 lbs.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

This job will require work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).

This job may require extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed, to meet customer requirements.

This job will require standing in one position long periods of time.
