Data Center Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

· Installation, relocation and recovery of network, server and storage hardware to manufacturer standards and industry best practices

· Build data center fabric design for VXLANs, BGP and OSPF environment

· Execution of all work to data center process & procedure

· Carry out monthly audits of items in store and produce a report of all anomalies

· Manage asset record updates, tracking and placing assets as to their location and status

· Ensure that all records are updated following any installations, moves or change

· Carry out daily housekeeping checks of the data halls and record their findings

· Responsible for data center solutions (copper/fiber patch leads, patch panels, connectors, etc.) and report appropriately.

Requirements

· A minimum of five years’ experience working in data center environments

· A minimum of five years of work as an engineer

· Experience of a broad range of hardware; HP, Dell, Nokia, Ciena, Cisco, Juniper and Arista.

· Configuration experience of Cisco and Arista networking equipment

· Deep understanding of IP networks

· Experience of working in an ITIL controlled environment with knowledge of Change Control, Incident Management & Problem Management processes.
