Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Production Controls Engineer located in Mineral Wells/Williamstown, WV reporting directly to the Manager, Production Services, Engineering. This individual designs, implements, and maintains processes that increase productivity, by editing and supporting existing PLC and HMI applications. Assist in implementation of predictive maintenance plans. Identify and implement error proofing (Poka-Yoke) requirements throughout the production process. Programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers, robotics and other electronic equipment. This individual also designs and develops new Poka-Yoke equipment to enhance error-proofing in production processes; establishes, maintains, and troubleshoots the industrial OT (Operational Technology) network, ensuring secure and reliable communication between devices and systems; and designs, develops, and manages the equipment and facility SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for monitoring and controlling industrial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain processes that increase productivity

Edit and support existing PLC and HMI applications

Assist in implementation of predictive maintenance plans

Identify and implement error proofing (Poka-Yoke) requirements throughout the production process

Kaizen – analyze plant processes and continuously improve safety, quality and productivity

Programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controllers, robotics and other electronic equipment

Apply knowledge of electronic and instrumentation principles to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions

Support downtime events that impact production

Interface with other departments on equipment modifications and design

Interpret and implement specifications

Design and develop new Poka-Yoke equipment to enhance error-proofing in production processes.

Establish, maintain, and troubleshoot the industrial OT (Operational Technology) network, ensuring secure and reliable communication between devices and systems.

Design, develop, and manage the equipment and facility SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system for monitoring and controlling industrial processes.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of three years of experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment, automotive experience is preferred. 3+ Years of controls experience

Required Skills:

PLC, Robotics and HMI programming-Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Toyopuc and Kawasaki

Project Management experience or ability

Lean Manufacturing and TPS knowledge

Extensive knowledge of problem-solving methodologies and experience with root cause analysis

Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond appropriately to work pressures

Mature and tactful communicator in both written and verbal contexts

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications

Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and learn new systems

2D AutoCAD or equivalent experience preferred

Proficiency in designing and developing Poka-Yoke solutions.

Knowledge of industrial network protocols, cybersecurity best practices for OT environments, and network architecture.

Experience with SCADA system design, configuration, and management, including data acquisition, visualization, and reporting.

Travel Requirements: 10-15% domestic and international travel to other plants, including Japan.
