Ground/Water Treatment & Technology, LLC (GWTT) is a leading environmental contractor located in Wharton, NJ. GWTT provides Construction Dewatering, remediation, and environmental construction services, including dewatering systems design, manufacture, installation, and operation. Additionally, we offer design/build services for temporary and permanent treatment systems, and operation and maintenance services for a variety of groundwater and wastewater treatment systems. Typical projects include groundwater depression and management for major construction projects, soil vapor extraction, air stripping, carbon adsorption, metals precipitation, pH neutralization, thermal/catalytic oxidation, and chemical oxidation.

Due to our growing business, we have an immediate need for a Wastewater Design Engineer in our Engineering Group.
Responsibilities
Review specifications, contract/RFP documents, and water quality data to prepare preliminary process designs that meet or exceed client requirements
Develop Process Flow Diagrams and Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams for treatment system
Conduct R&D/treatability studies on sample water (as needed) to assess feasibility, efficiency, and efficacy of process designs
Conduct engineering calculations including flow/mass balances, detention times, total dynamic head, etc.
Design or select equipment that meets system design
Make basic projections of chemical and energy use in plant processes and general plant operations for current and future conditions
Ensure compliance with local, state and federal environmental regulations and permitting requirements
Analyze wastewater treatment data and recommend improvements for optimization of new and existing treatment systems
Produce technical engineering documents such as system descriptions, equipment submittals, and operating manuals
Support on-site commissioning and start-up activities for projects
Requirements
Engineering/ Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university
Chemical, Civil, Environmental engineering preferred
Has a general mastery of water treatment and permitting processes or pertinent experience
Good knowledge of water chemistry
Experience with treatability and pilot studies
Ability to write professional business correspondence and procedural manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers
Ability to quickly define problems, gather and assess relevant data and information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions to implement solutions and delegate to appropriate personnel
Self-sufficient, responsible, and organized
Flexibility to travel
Ability to communicate at all levels effectively
