Cooper River Partners (CRP) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pacolet Milliken, LLC, and is the owner and operator of Bushy Park, a multi-tenant industrial park. The site is located on Bushy Park Road in Goose Creek, South Carolina. CRP provides industrial services, such as steam water compressed air, rail services, security, and emergency response to the nine tenant companies on site. Job Overview:
Provides engineering support for plant operations and ensures safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production equipment at Bushy Park (Cooper River Partners (CRP), LLC) a 24 hr/day, 365 day/year facility. Areas of responsibility include high pressure steam, electrical distribution, process water, ammonia refrigeration, compressed air, nitrogen, natural gas, and liquid sodium silicate (LSS).
Responsibilities and Duties:
Functions as the subject matter expert (SME) for plant systems and provides engineering support to plant operations teams.
Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical systems using industry best practices.
Performs Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and determines corrective and preventative actions for equipment failures.
Updates plant drawings and documentation using CAD software of underground piping, process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), etc.
Conducts inspections and audits of in-progress work by both CRP and contractor personnel to ensure compliance with safe work practices.
Performs engineering design, develops detailed scope of work, and obtains bids for projects.
Actively manages multiple concurrent capital projects.
Compiles data and generates various reports for utilities billing process.
Documents and updates standard operating procedures (SOP) and standard maintenance procedures (SMP) for plant operations.
Ensures completion of required activities for management of change (MOC) process and participates in process hazard analysis (PHA) reviews.
Supports site Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance efforts.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Specific Skills:
Strong engineering fundamentals (thermodynamics, fluid flow, heat transfer, and materials)
Strong math skills. Ability to perform moderately complex engineering calculations.
Familiarity with various codes and standards applicable to job functions (ASME, IIAR, etc..).
Ability to troubleshoot industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
Proficient in engineering and managing projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Administration of Process Safety Management (PSM) program.
Understanding of water treatment chemistry.
Intermediate skill level with CAD; SOLIDWORKS, MicroStation, or AutoCAD.
Ability to work with little or no direct supervision.
Minimum Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in an engineering discipline is required; Mechanical or Chemical engineering is preferred.
Minimum Experience:
5 years of experience in a chemical plant, refinery, or an industrial utility operation.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements
Possess close visual acuity and visual acuity to perform activities such as prepare and analyze data, transcribe; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small objects; operate machinery; ability to stand, walk, talk, and hear, and exert up to 20lbs of force occasionally and 10lbs frequently.
Working Conditions
Subject to activities inside and outside, noise levels where one may need to shout to be heard, vibration, hazards such as moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in high places; subject to one or more atmospheric conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
