About The Role
The Automation Technician will provide support to Manufacturing Engineering for all robotics and electronic controls on existing and new equipment. They will be responsible for providing hands-on support for equipment operators as well as input on tooling designs and new equipment. _.
Responsibilities
Provide electrical, mechanical, and robotic support necessary to program and keep all company production equipment in good working order.
May support or mentor Maintenance Mechanic positions.
Install, maintain, and repair robotics.
Inspect work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
Support engineering efforts to install and integrate new robotic equipment.
Support engineering efforts to monitor equipment performance and perform systematic performance analysis to drive improvements on equipment reliability, availability, throughput, and cost of ownership.
Order parts/supplies to maintain equipment.
Develop preventive maintenance plan based on equipment documentation and experience for automated equipment.
Maintain a productive, efficient, and team-oriented work environment.
Perform machine safety analysis to verify systems meet OSHA requirements.
Assist in evaluating and proposing standard manufacturing procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
Associate’s degree in electronics, robotics, engineering, or related field preferred or 3-5 years equivalent work experience. Robotic experience preferred - Knowledge and practical experience with pneumatics, sensors, and hydraulics. Experience with electrical, electrical controls, and PLCs. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to disassemble equipment, diagnose problems, and reassemble in a proficient manner. Highly proficient working knowledge of a variety of electronic controls. Must be self-directed with ability to work independently and as a team. Excellent ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize actions to support management directive. Ability to lead and instruct co-workers in a manner that promotes teamwork.
