Description
Savannah River National Laboratory is seeking a Classification Analyst responsible for providing programmatic and technical expertise to the SRNL Classification Program. In this position you will assist the Classification Officer (CO) and Export Control Officer (ECO) in supporting the management and oversight of the SRNL Classification and Trade Compliance Programs.
Experience in applying current DOE classification guides in such areas as nuclear weapons design and test, military applications, arms control, nuclear nonproliferation, nuclear materials production, intelligence/counterintelligences, to SRNL National Security Programs.
Experience working with export control regulations for commodities and technical information.
Experience in development, implementation, and oversight of information security or other regulatory programs at SRS.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Classification Programs, to include strategic planning, risk management and oversight of program implementation.
Responsible for assisting the Export Control Officer with maintenance and administration of the trade compliance program, to include coordinating with all levels of staff and management.
Work with multiple organizations for collaborations and implementation of the Information Security programs to align with mission and organizational strategic business plans.
Reviewing scientific papers and reports to identify scientific and technical information that requires protection or control.
Maintaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of the constantly changing Federal Classification/Trade compliance policies, laws, and regulations.
Responsible for assisting the Classification Officer in maintaining and administering the Classification Program, to include coordinating with all levels of staff and management.
Establishes and maintains liaison relationships by networking with SRNL management and staff to foster integration, best practices and meet organizational goals.
Analyzing complex information and provided interpretations to identify OPSEC, CUI, and Classification controls that will be required on programmatic work products or process to adhere to current DOE and other federal agencies.
Analyzing complex technical information and provide determinations for trade compliance issues arising from SRNL research or equipment procurements.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science and/or technical field and 7-9 yrs of relevant experience
For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent analytical and interpretation abilities.
Motivated self- starter with the ability to work independently and participate creatively in collaborative teams across the laboratory and DOE complex.
Ability to function well in a fast-paced research environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple takes with deadlines and adapt to ever changing needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
