Job Title: Fabrication Shop Manager

**THIS IS AN ON-SITE POSITION in our Lawrenceville, GA facility**

The Fabrication Shop Manager oversees daily operations, leads the fabrication shop team, and ensures high-quality production processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication, CNC, and surface finishing/painting, along with strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Manage Daily Operations: Oversee and streamline daily activities within the fabrication shop to ensure efficient production processes.

Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration.

Task Supervision: Supervise and delegate tasks related to laser cutting, waterjet cutting, press-brake operations, and surface finishing/painting, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Hands-On Guidance: Provide hands-on support to team members, enhancing their skills and capabilities.

Drawing Interpretation: Interpret drawings and verbal instructions to guide team members through complex projects.

Collaboration: Work closely with engineering staff to ensure clear communication of project requirements and specifications.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency, product quality, and overall shop performance.

Performance Monitoring: Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators to drive shop performance.

Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks on fabricated products to ensure they meet project standards and specifications.

Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, industry standards, and safety regulations in all fabrication activities.

Troubleshooting: Resolve fabrication equipment and process issues to minimize downtime.

Work Environment: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the fabrication shop.

Hiring Support: Conduct preliminary employment interviews and assist in the hiring process.

Safety Protocols: Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.

Resource Management: Manage labor and resource requirements to meet production goals.

Inventory Management: Maintain and manage the inventory of fabrication shop consumables.

CNC Programming: Create CNC programs for laser cutting, waterjet cutting, and press-brake operations.

Requirements:

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a related field, with a strong background in fabrication, CNC, and surface finishing/painting.

Drawing Skills: Proven ability to read and interpret drawings and follow verbal instructions to ensure project accuracy and quality.

Team Management: Demonstrated experience in training, mentoring, and managing a team.

Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise between engineering staff and the fabrication team.

Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of various fabrication technologies and techniques, including laser cutting, waterjet cutting, press-brake operations, and surface finishing/painting.

Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.

Multitasking: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Software Skills: Experience with ERP/scheduling software is preferred.

Machinery Programming: Proficiency in programming machinery for fabrication processes.

Working Conditions:

Environment: This position involves working in a fabrication shop environment, with exposure to noise, heat, and some lifting (20+ lbs.).

Safety: Safety gear and adherence to safety procedures are always required.

Compensation is competitive and will be based on the candidate's skills, experience, and qualifications.
