Material Handler
Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for receiving deliveries of raw materials by comparing identifying information against Bills of Lading (BOLs) or other shipment documentation and does not sign the delivery slip/documentation until they agree with the shipment. Also responsible for maintaining an inventory of raw materials by identifying, labeling, and placing raw materials in stock, and recording the location in JobBoss. This position is primarily an outside position. He or she will be an active member of the Masters Safety Committee Team. The Material Handler is professional, respectful, courteous & friendly to all fellow employees, Supervisors & Managers at Masters Machine, and reports to the Production Manager and CFO.
Responsibilities:
Receiving deliveries of raw materials, verifying that all sealed containers are opened upon receipt and material inside is correct
Inventorying & recording all raw material location in JobBoss
Timely and accurate monthly inventory counts of raw material
Operating material handling equipment such as forklifts & pallet jacks to move or reorganize storage of raw material
Delivering material to departments as needed in a timely manner, recording transactions in JobBoss with new location of material
Build shipping pallets as needed
Daily safety inspections of all forklifts and electric pallet jacks
Gathering returned raw material, labeling, and confirming RMA numbers verifying paperwork before vendor picks up
Preparing raw material storage units for monthly auditors, Assisting in inventory audits
Meticulous housekeeping of raw material storage units and staging yard. To include disposing of strapping & tags not needed, removing scrap wood, and sweeping floors
Managing the raw material scrap process throughout the shop (including PRAB)
Assist the Maintenance department when workload permits
Haz Mat training
General Obligations:
Be punctual and have a good attendance record. The Production Manager must approve any time off requests in
advance
Work in a safe & orderly manner, promptly reporting personal injuries & unsafe conditions to a Safety Team Member or Production Manager depending on severity of the condition,
Be concerned for the safety of others and work together improving safety
Protect & maintain equipment & materials from damage and loss
Wear seat belt when operation forklifts always
Qualifications:
2 Years or more material handlers experience
Competency in computerized system operation
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Ability to properly organize and prioritize tasks
Detailed oriented, reliable & professional attitude
Strong problem solving, research & resolution skills
Ability to work independently and with a team
2+ years operation of forklifts, scissor-lifts & pallet jacks (requires certification)
Good driving record which will allow employee to be covered by Masters vehicle insurance policy
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand for several hours and lift or move up to 50lbs. The employee must have the ability to read, listen and communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing as well as hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of an emergency situation.
Days Monday - Thursday 6:40am -4pm Friday 6:40am -12pm
