Job Description

Production Technician I to support the technical assembly and testing of our LDLS products. This role involves both independent and team-based work within our manufacturing facility in Wilmington, MA. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on problem solver, eager to learn and grow within a high-tech, low-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assemble and test products to meet performance specifications and quality standards.

Perform precision bonding of optical components using alignment fixtures.

Build optical and mechanical assemblies following detailed work instructions.

Identify and report quality issues or delays to the Lead Test Engineer or Manager.

Use hand tools, precision instruments, and automated test fixtures to build and validate products.

Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies using instrumentation.

Maintain a high level of quality (target >99.5%) and escalate quality concerns promptly.

Follow production protocols and maintain accurate computerized records.

Ensure workspace cleanliness and organization.

Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.

Growth & Advancement Responsibilities:

Train under the guidance of the Manager and Technical Lead to build and test all products listed in the Training Matrix.

Perform first-level troubleshooting and light maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

Demonstrate increased independence and technical proficiency over time.

Maintain a strong record of error-free, defect-free product builds.

Actively participate in team initiatives and personal career development.

Qualifications & Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training preferred.

Minimum 2 years of assembly and testing experience, ideally in a low-volume, high-tech manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with cleanroom practices, optics, lasers, analog/digital electronics, and optical metrology.

Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access (forms).

Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, diagrams, and work instructions.

Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
