An active family who likes to travel and live life to the fullest is seeking a top-notch live-in nanny/house manager to care for their three school-aged children, and sprawling, fully staffed estate on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. The family is in the development phase of their home enterprise, and the ideal candidate will be experienced, passionate, and dedicated long term. The general schedule will average 40 hours per week, alternating Wednesday through Friday and Wednesday through Monday, based on the co-parenting schedule. This is a live-in position, with childcare being the main priority, and the family wants the best of the best. Accommodations consist of a separate guest house on the property. Relocation is being offered, and the candidate must be available for immediate hire.

Responsibilities

Nanny Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

Facilitate morning routine, preparing children for school

Transporting children to/from school and activities – car provided

Preparing healthy meals and snacks

Oversee bed and bath time

Assisting with homework and school projects

Engaging in fun-filled educational play and outdoor games

Organizing children’s rooms and belongings

Organically create teaching moments and lead by example

Provide a positive environment fostering independence and good judgment

Proactively researching age-appropriate activities locally and before travel

Liaising with teachers and proactively monitoring/updating children’s schedules in the family calendar

Reviewing child-related invoices for accuracy and paying invoices

Assessing and managing health, including appointments and medications

Scheduling play dates and social engagements

Serving as the first point of contact regarding child custody communication when necessary

Guiding the children’s social development to include manners, success-driven routines, and building the character of a leading global citizen.

Fostering, promoting, and establishing an atmosphere of mutual respect, positivity, patience, and drive to achieve.

Collaboratively work with hands-on parents

Assist with planning and prep for children’s birthday parties and other events

Gift purchasing and wrapping

Travel prep/pack

Accompany the family on domestic and international trips

Set boundaries in a firm but thoughtful manner

Make transition times enjoyable

Represent the family in a polished and professional manner

Ad hoc tasks as needed

House Manager Responsibilities

Include, but are not limited to:

Ensuring the home is neat and always organized.

Collaborate with the Estate manager to divide and conquer the oversight of the housekeeping team by directing and coordinating schedules as needed

Establish and enforce housekeeping policies and procedures

Oversee and train housekeeping staff,

Draft and implement a cleaning and laundry schedule,

Maintain tidy and orderly closets throughout the residence

Liaising with contractors and specialty vendors to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and workmanship

Create a maintenance log and schedule regular service, such as deep cleaning of the interiors, including upholstery and HVAC systems.

Maintain household inventories and procure supplies, manage inventory of perishables, pantry items, medicine supplies, toiletries, and dry goods.

Care for multiple dogs,

Daily errands

Assist principals with home organization projects, packing and unpacking for trips, seasonal wardrobe shopping and relocation, holiday shopping, decorating, and other special projects as needed.

Keep the house running smoothly when the family is in and out of town

Tech savvy – Ability to use apps on phone

Engaging and outgoing personality with emotional maturity

Ability to pivot and anticipate needs – Always has a backup plan

Passionate about children, their well-being, and development

Team player who enjoys collaboration with parents and staff

Knowledge of working with a family office and other family representatives

Ability to understand and clearly communicate the family’s preferences, goals, and expectations of internal staff, team members, and external providers

Patient and adaptable

Not easily flustered and enjoy being a positive, uplifting role model

Sense of humor

Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal

Requirements

7+ years of prior experience in a similar position in a fully staffed estate

Experience with multiple children aged 8 and up

Ability to travel domestically and internationally

Valid passport

Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Must be able to swim

Pet/Animal friendly

College degree

Experience with children with ADHD and dyslexia

Must sign and adhere to an NDA

Flexibility

Knowledge of fine household items such as couture clothing, fine linens, laundering, and wardrobe management

Legal to work in the U.S.

Salary and Benefits

The family is offering $145k to $175k annually based on experience, PTO, and negotiable health reimbursement
